  • October 15, 2021: Dr. Keyak and associates submit a research article to the peer-reviewed journal Physics in Medicine and Biology, the official journal of the International Organization for Medical Physics, titled "A Preliminary Safety Assessment of Vertebral Augmentation with 32P Brachytherapy Bone Cement", an animal study showing safety in sheep.

  • February 13, 2021: Dr. Keyak and associates present a research paper to the Orthopedic Research Society titled: "Preliminary Safety Assessment of Kyphoplasty with Brachytherapy Bone Cement in an Ovine Model." Trans Orthop Res Soc 46: 1688-LB, 2021.

  • June 2017: Prof. Keyak procures a UCI Dept of Radiological Science Seed Grant for an in vivo study of Radioactive Bone Cement in sheep. 2017-2022.

  • June 16,2014: The Innovation Institute LLC (a research arm of the St Joseph Health System) and Bone-Rad Therapeutics, Inc. sign a memorandum of agreement to work together on advancing the use of radioactive cement for treatment of metastatic lesions.

  • June 16, 2012: Drs. Kaneko, Keyak, Sehgal, and Skinner co-author a research article, entitled "Radioactive bone cement for the treatment of spinal metastases: a dosimetric analysis of clinical scenarios", in the peer-reviewed journal Physics in Medicine and Biology, the official journal of the International Organization for Medical Physics.

  • February 8, 2011: Bone-Rad Therapeutics invited to present at the Medical Technology Innovation Summit, to be held at the Medical Device & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Exposition and Conference in Anaheim, CA.

  • October 21, 2010: Bone-Rad Therapeutics has named Steve Naber as its new President and CEO. Mr. Naber has been involved with the financing and operations of start-up medical device companies for the past 20 years. Dr. Harry Skinner, the former President and CEO, will now serve as Bone-Rad's Chairman.

  • May 13, 2010: The research article published in Physics in Medicine and Biology is selected as a Featured Article and an Editor's Choice for the journal, and is profiled on MedicalPhysicsWeb in an article entitled "Model predicts dose from radioactive cement".

  • April 26, 2010: Bone-Rad Therapeutics, Inc. and The University of California have signed a license agreement, giving Bone-Rad Therapeutics exclusive commercial rights to the radioactive bone cement technology being developed in Dr. Keyak's lab.

  • April 7, 2010: Drs. Kaneko, Keyak, Sehgal, and Skinner co-author a research article, entitled "Evaluation of a radiation transport modeling method for radioactive bone cement", in the peer-reviewed journal Physics in Medicine and Biology, the official journal of the International Organization for Medical Physics.

  • January 14, 2010: The research behind radioactive bone cement, performed in Dr. Keyak's lab at UC Irvine, is featured as a Research Highlight by the Department of Defense (DOD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
